Naši krajinu domova máme krásně vymezenou zvláštní kruhovou hradbou pohraničních hor. Kotlina Čech, sevřená tímto prstencem, je do sebe uzavřeným světem, zatímco široké úvaly Moravy se naopak otevírají jako náruč. V této knize se spolu s námi projdete krajinou Hustopečské pahorkatiny a Pálavy, Železných hor a Žďárských vrchů, Bílých Karpat, Jizerských hor a Krkonoš, Nízkého a Hrubého Jeseníku. Podíváme se i na místa, v nichž se otiskly vzpomínky na sopky – do Českého středohoří a Slavkovského lesa.

Kniha navazuje na stejnojmenný úspěšný televizní pořad, který získal prestižní hlavní cenu Tourfilmu, mezinárodního festivalu filmů s cestovatelskou tematikou. Úchvatné fotografie doprovázejí texty vyzdvihující pozoruhodnosti české a moravské krajiny a dokreslují je působivé ilustrace. Vychází v trojjazyčné verzi – česky, anglicky a německy.

Even the most explored land can be rediscovered again and again.

Our homeland is beautifully delimited by a special rounded wall of borderline mountains. The Czech Basin, enclosed in this mountainous ring, is a world wrapped up in itself, while the wide valleys of Moravia seem to open their arms. The man has been learning to live in this land and manage it for such a long time that he created a space the man himself named a small garden. We perceive our homeland as the Paradise on Earth, the one that is sung about in the national anthem. There are many places left in our country where its unique magic and its unmistakable poetics are still alive to these days.

In this book you can join us for a walk in the country of the Hustopeče Downs and the Pálava, the Iron Mountains and the Žďár Heights, the White Carpathians, the Jizera Mountains and the Giant Mountains, the Nízký and the Hrubý Jeseník. We can also visit places where memories of volcanoes left their prints – the Central Bohemian Highlands and the Emperor’s Forest.

The book is a follow-up to a successful TV series with the same name, which achieved the prestigious main prize of Tourfilm, an international festival of travel movies. Breath-taking photographs are accompanied by texts emphasizing Czech and Moravian regions and supplemented with impressive illustrations.

Auch die meisterforschte Landschaft können wir immer wieder neu entdecken.

Unsere Heimatlandschaft ist schön eingegrenzt durch den besonderen ringförmigen Wall der Grenzgebirge. Der von diesem Ring umschlossene böhmische Kessel ist eine in sich abgeschlossene Welt, während sich dagegen die weiten Täler Mährens öffnen wie ausgebreitete Arme. In diesem Buch werden Sie mit uns durch die Landschaften des Auspitzer Hügellands und der Pollauer Berge, des Eisengebirges und der Saarer Berge, der Weißen Karpaten, des Isergebirges und des Riesengebirges, des Mährischen Gesenkes und des Hohen Gesenkes wandern. Wir werden auch Orte sehen, die Erinnerungen an Vulkane bergen: das Böhmische Mittelgebirge und den Kaiserwald.

Das Buch knüpft an die gleichnamige erfolgreiche Fernsehsendung an, die den renommierten Hauptpreis von Tourfilm, dem internationalen Reisefilmfestival gewonnen hat.
